April 2016:  One of the byproducts of the latest chitravenu design is an effective tambura without a jiva...can be readily crafted with hand tools…no complex filing required. Take a listen and let me know if you would like me to retrofit your tambura with something like this ! I can guarantee a louder volume with comparable or better buzz
